I would like to share my personal experience to offer more insight into Reiki and Siam Reiki for those interested in the practice. While the DPA course was very interesting, it was not a turning point for me. After completing Reiki 1 and DPA, I was hesitant and almost didn’t want to continue because the value and benefits I gained from it didn’t motivate me enough to “open my wallet” right away ^^. At that time, many of my fellow students were eager to continue, and it seemed that they made progress in subsequent courses. From my perspective, their eagerness stemmed from the value they received from DPA and the earlier courses, which encouraged them to continue. I, however, was quite stubborn and thought, “Never mind, let’s pause for now.” Fortunately, a wise person calmly and quietly advised me to continue with Reiki 2, and then decide. And indeed, Reiki 2 turned out to be a major turning point for me.
As I mentioned, everyone will have their own turning point. If you have the resources to follow the universe’s guidance and take any course you like, go ahead. But if you need to balance your finances, I think you should complete Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 first, then proceed with DPA and other courses later. You may feel a bit confused when practicing Reiki 2, as I mentioned in my previous post, but I hope that with my sharing, you will be prepared for this confusion, which will be resolved by the skills you receive from other courses.
Next, I’d like to introduce two supplementary courses that I personally found quite interesting.
The first one is the Crystal Healing course — specifically, using crystals with Reiki. The prerequisite for this course is completing Reiki 1, as you need to combine Reiki with crystals. However, I found that after completing Reiki 2, I truly saw the “essence” of this course. I’m lucky that I took Reiki 2 before learning about Crystal Healing. If I had only taken Reiki 1, I would have felt that learning about crystals would have been a waste. To clarify, this course focuses on using crystals combined with Reiki for healing, not just healing with crystals alone. So, if you’re looking to learn about different types of crystals, their properties, colors, shapes, and their healing effects, this course is not for you. It’s more suited for those who want a simple tool to enhance their healing sessions with Reiki or boost the effectiveness of their healing when feeling lazy. All you need is Reiki 1 to take this course and satisfy that need. But if you want to take it further with crystal healing, to feel the story of the crystals and the energy flow when using them, you need to learn Reiki 2 and not be lazy ^^. As Steve says, using crystals requires a lot of intuition, and the healer must feel what is happening, just like the channelling process when performing a Reiki 2 session. Therefore, it requires strong focus to understand the story of the crystals and how they are helping the client, as well as to identify the issues the client is facing. Clearly, when you know how to heal at level 2 or above, you can work with crystals more diversely than at level 1. Those who have worked with crystals in Reiki 1, try revisiting them using Reiki 2 or Reiki Master techniques — you’ll see how different it is.
The second course is an incredibly mind-bending one — Using a Pendulum for Diagnosis. To take this course, you must have completed Reiki 2. Of all the courses I’ve taken, this is the one that gave me the most headaches because it demands the most from your mind and requires intuition as well. I felt like I had exhausted my neurons after working with the pendulum for just one hour, even more than I would in a few hours of hypnosis sessions =))) To clarify, this course uses the pendulum with Reiki to assist in healing, not as a tool for all purposes. So if you’re planning to learn pendulum techniques to ask, “Does he love me? Does she have someone else? Will I get a promotion soon? Should I bet on this lottery number?” and so on, then this course is not for you ^^. This course is excellent for developing your thinking skills and truly helps us understand energy and how to work with it systematically, with thought, rather than just mysticism. There are some other practices that use pendulums to find or measure energy forms in nature, but Siam Reiki doesn’t use it that way. From a client’s perspective, if you have health issues, feel unwell, but don’t know why, and medical exams don’t reveal anything, the pendulum can help you diagnose more specifically — what the issue is, how it manifests, when it happened, what it’s connected to, etc. From the learner’s or healer’s perspective, practice a lot with the pendulum, as it is a tool to communicate with your Guides. Once I can use the pendulum fluently, I’ll share more. Right now, when I use it, my Guides just shake their heads at me ^^
Another light and interesting course is Aura Viewing. This course is rarely offered, so if you’re interested, be sure to sign up quickly ^^. The requirement for this course is completion of Reiki 1. Personally, I think taking this course right after the Crystal Healing course will be very exciting because you get to feel the crystals, see the crystals, and then go off looking and touching everything ^^. I really enjoy the experience of touching the aura of grass, as it seems to dance around, touching my palms. I also had some funny experiences while sitting in a café, scanning the auras of passersby. One day, I had the intention to look at someone’s aura but forgot to protect myself, and I immediately felt deeply sad because of their sorrow. Or one day, while enjoying my delicious yogurt, I suddenly saw a man who had just been chased by Tào Tháo. ^^ In conclusion, aura viewing in Siam Reiki is still primarily for therapeutic purposes, focusing on healing, so we’re not concerned with the flashy colors and patterns. The main question is whether there’s a problem and how to address it. Also, I’ve noticed that this course has some elements that are related and beneficial to the course on Identifying Energy Forms and Liberation. If you’ve just completed Reiki 1 and decide to take the Aura Viewing course, be sure to relax and go with the flow — otherwise, you might feel overwhelmed. Taking Reiki 2 or DPA first before doing Aura Viewing would make it easier. This isn’t a mandatory course for advancing to higher levels, but it brings me a lot of small joys. I hope you’ll find as much joy in it as I have.
There are two courses that are occasionally offered or are being launched for the first time in Vietnam, and notably, they are available online. These are the “Energy Protection and Restoration” course and the “Extrasensory Perception When Touching Objects” course. There are no prerequisites for these courses. The first course is definitely useful for those who are sensitive, often experience unusual energy depletion, or for healers who don’t yet know how to preserve their own energy ^^. The second course is like being able to sense information about a person or an event related to an object when you touch it. It could be applied in cases such as finding information about a missing person. I think that completing DPA or Reiki 2 would enhance the effectiveness of the “Extrasensory Perception When Touching Objects” course. However, I haven’t taken these courses myself, so I don’t have much to comment on. If anyone plans to take them soon, please share your experience with me after completing them.
Next, there’s a course that many people struggle with — “Identifying Energy Forms and Liberation.” Along with Reiki 2, there are a few strict requirements for this course. People often call it the “Liberating Souls” course to give it a more Vietnamese twist, but personally, I think that name doesn’t do it justice because it’s so much more than that ^^. Honestly, I didn’t want to take this course at first, partly because I saw so many people struggling with it, and partly because I prefer working with living people. As I often joke, no matter how skilled a spiritual teacher may be, they still fear their wife, and no matter how powerful a female spiritual teacher may be, she still fears her child’s illness ^^. So, while some may prefer working with spiritual matters, I just enjoy helping people live better lives, so their spouses aren’t so scary and their children aren’t sick ^^. Usually, this course is conducted during the Fire Gathering ceremony, with the protection of the Fire Keepers, or in rituals related to ancestors. In these ceremonies, there are often many different types of energies and many healers from different disciplines involved. Most of the fellow students I know have shared their experience of participating in this course during such rituals, saying it was “filled with fiery energy.” However, I took this course in a more introverted way, without any ceremonies except the nightly fire at 7 Stones in the peaceful heart of Ubon, sitting on a chair and conversing with the Masters. Through this experience, the course helped me identify various types of energy in nature, as well as the types of energy that can cling to the human body, and I learned how to deal with them. Also, when I called for assistance from higher beings, I could feel their presence — it was like a united team with no distinctions. This course requires a strong will and clear intent, as Steve said, “This is not a game,” and it also demands sensitivity because sometimes you can’t use a pendulum. Although this is a mandatory course for those who wish to study Reiki 3 (Master), it’s still very much a beginner level when it comes to working with natural energies. In summary, many people have made great progress after taking this course, and since each person’s journey is unique, the experience will differ. So if you want to take it, go ahead with full confidence!
Finally, Reiki 3 – Siam Reiki Master. Similar to Reiki 2, this was a turning point for me. Right after my first fine-tuning session with Steve, I performed my first Reiki session and witnessed a clear and distinct difference in the energy flow entering. It made my mind both alert and deeply calm; just closing my eyes, I immediately entered a very deep state. I don’t know about other Masters’ experiences, but I was extremely satisfied with mine. I’ll revisit and reflect on this experience a year from now.
Conclusion: Everyone has their own journey, their own experience, their own turning points, and unique hidden potentials. The deeper I go, the more I understand what I need and what my strengths are. From the perspective of a learner, everyone will likely experience similar psychological stages at different times, not only in this discipline but in others as well. Just observe and focus on yourself because, no matter the technique or method, this is still an inner developmental journey for each individual. From the perspective of a client, you’ll find that each Reiki session is unique, and Reiki healers will have their own styles or special strengths. Reiki is a practice with its own reference system and approach, different from other disciplines. Personally, I’m not looking for the “right” method, but rather an effective tool, and I’m currently content with what I’ve learned.
Thank you to everyone who shared this joy and these experiences with me. For anyone interested in learning Siam Reiki for personal growth or to become a professional healer, I hope this post is helpful to you. For those who want to explore other healing disciplines, I believe we’ll find many common points along the journey of discovery and learning. I wish us all enough determination in our choices. Once again, I thank my fellow colleagues and fellow students, Steve, and the higher beings from the spiritual realm who have supported me.
