“SIAM REIKI” WARRIOR SPIRIT

When I first embarked on the path of “healing” and realized that my true essence was something precious and eternal compared to this physical body, I, like many others, often spoke of concepts like “Love and Light” – Unconditional love, I am the light, I am love; we are all one; the soul is neither right nor wrong, etc. Life was filled with a rosy hue. Even for wandering souls, we treated them with love and light.

Of course, it cannot be denied that darkness exists, that black magic exists, and that people manipulate spirits who haven’t transcended for personal gain. So, in such cases, what should we do with the darkness?

In early 2023, when I first learned about and began studying Siam Reiki, Teacher Steve mentioned the concept of Love and Light, but also spoke about the “warrior spirit.” This raised a big question for me after completing Siam Reiki 2 and considering the Transcending practice. Specifically, what does the warrior spirit mean? Does it mean fighting against spirits, forcing them to transcend even when they don’t want to? If so, does this contradict unconditional love, Love and Light, and compassion for those trapped souls?

If you share this question, I hope my small experience from my journey following the teachings of Master Chân Đất will provide some answers.

Firstly, professional Siam Reiki therapists have the responsibility to support their clients. The therapy given to clients, and even the energy clearing of their homes, may involve entities that have not transcended, black magic, etc. In such cases, the therapist will “not be afraid, not appease the spirits, not flatter them, and not negotiate or reconcile.” When it’s time to fight, we fight to the end, using all means from gentle to decisive, and even sometimes very “funny.”

Here’s a very decisive and funny example: During the Fire Lighting ceremony in November in Thailand, there was a session to check the energy of the homes of students. The task began at 9 PM, and everyone (the Masters, students who had taken the Transcending course, and Teacher Steve) took turns checking each house, finishing at midnight. This task should have ended there, but suddenly Teacher Steve asked us to help transcend all the trapped spirits we had just checked. Under the sacred fire, with the cold wind blowing and the dark sky, I was wrapped in a blanket, yawning constantly. Teacher pointed directly at me and said, “Á Lịt, if you want to participate, get up properly, otherwise, leave immediately” ^^.

In the first transcendence attempt, Master B still had one spirit that hadn’t transcended. Teacher scolded us all:

  • “How late do you want to sleep, 1:30 AM or 3 AM? If you keep working at this pace and being so indecisive, we’ll still be at it at 3 AM. Or do you want to sleep with ghosts? Be decisive and smart! B, check what spirit this is!”

  • B responded: “A female spirit, 34 years old.”

  • Teacher: “Now, let’s see, what would a 34-year-old woman believe in?”

  • B hesitated: “The Goddess of Mercy…”

  • Teacher: “Is that really true?”

  • Me: “They believe in money” ^^

Well, I don’t know how it happened, but eventually, that spirit agreed to transcend, thanks to the guidance of Happy Buddha – Phật Di Lặc – the chubby Buddha holding a bag of money ^^. In the end, thanks to Teacher’s determination, we finished the task and went to sleep at 1:30 AM.

Secondly, while maintaining the warrior spirit when necessary, “this warrior doesn’t arrogantly challenge” and doesn’t have the ambition to be a hero. Specifically, Teacher always reminded us to keep ourselves and others safe, not to rush into people’s homes and challenge the invisible realm there. Many people ask us, if we truly have the ability to transcend, why don’t we transcend for the fallen heroes, especially in Vietnam where there are plenty of cemeteries that need attention. But in reality, our job is to support the living and do what’s necessary for the living, not to show off that we can do this or that to look cool.

Thirdly, Teacher Steve shows great respect for the deceased, both at low and high vibrational levels. Personally, I really appreciate how Teacher Steve clearly distinguishes the meanings of rituals. For example, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year is a time to honor ancestors, whether they have transcended or not. Teacher advises us to use this occasion as a time for descendants to remember and express respect toward their ancestors, not to invite the spirits of the deceased to join the family’s celebration, because spirits that haven’t transcended, even if they are ancestors, remain at low vibrational energy levels and can negatively affect the living. According to Teacher, the New Year is not the appropriate time for transcending ancestors. This viewpoint is quite interesting and somewhat aligns with certain traditions in Vietnamese culture, where the seventh month of the lunar calendar is a time for the ritual of transcending spirits. The clarity of the meaning behind rituals is also reflected in the activities during the Fire Lighting ceremony. For example, we are not allowed to mix up the photos of the Sacred Fire healers during the Transcendence Ritual for ancestors; or all photos related to the Transcendence Ritual and the energy check of the house must be burned after the activity.

A few years ago, when Teacher visited Vietnam for work, he went to the My Son Sanctuary to connect with the Vietnamese ancestors and “ask for permission” to conduct activities in Vietnam. Before the Fire Lighting in Hanoi in July 2024, I personally witnessed Teacher connecting with and “asking permission” from the local ancestors. At 7 Stones in Ubon, Thailand, before each Fire Lighting ceremony, Teacher always leads everyone to the Village’s Guardian Deities to “ask permission.” “Asking permission” is how I translate it in Vietnamese, as many people in Vietnam would understand it. But Teacher explained that it’s not “asking permission” to receive consent, but rather informing and greeting with respect. Teacher says that as human beings with all our faculties and dreams, we have the right to go to places we wish to visit. However, no matter where we go, we must show respect for the unseen realm in that place. Especially when visiting the Village Guardian Deities at 7 Stones during the Fire Lighting in November 2024, Teacher clearly instructed us that this area contains both high and low vibrational energies, and everyone participating must be very clear about the purpose of the visit — to express respect and inform them about the ritual, not to approach it with the mindset of “transcendence,” and not to turn the visit into a “battle for transcendence.”

In conclusion, at this point, I see that the “Siam Reiki warrior spirit” does not contradict “Love and Light.” It’s about striving to complete the task quickly and safely, but not forgetting “Unconditional Love.”

With the above sharing, I hope we will enter the upcoming Lunar New Year with greater clarity about the energetic meaning behind the rituals. If anyone wants to gain more experience with the Transcending course or the Fire Lighting ceremony at the end of April 2025 in Saigon, I suggest working towards completing Siam Reiki 2 and DPA first, and sharpening your skills.
